A SEASON WORTH CELEBRATING The final score wasn't what Norwood-Norfolk hoped for, but the Flyers' season came to an end on one of the biggest stages in New York high school softball. After earning the opportunity to represent Section X as the Class B alternate, Norwood-Norfolk advanced to the NYSPHSAA tournament and battled a strong Susquehanna Valley squad in the state play-in round at Grand Slam Park. The Sabers earned a 16-0 victory, ending the Flyers' memorable postseason run. While the season may be over, the accomplishment remains. Not every team gets the chance to extend its season into June. Not every team gets the opportunity to wear Section X across its chest and compete in the state tournament. Congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and supporters of Norwood-Norfolk on a season that ended among the final teams still playing in New York State. Sometimes the scoreboard doesn't tell the whole story. This one ends with a state tournament appearance and a season the Flyers can be proud of. Congratulations, Flyers.
