📝Game Recap· by Section X Scoreboard

It felt like one of those games in Heuvelton where if you left early, you absolutely picked the wrong day. Game Recap: Potsdam at Heuvelton Potsdam came out sharp and took advantage of early miscues by Heuvelton, turning errors into runs and building a 6-3 lead heading into the 4th inning. They stayed aggressive on the bases and put pressure on Heuvelton’s defense right from the jump. But Heuvelton didn’t fold. They started chipping away, putting together quality at-bats and scratching across runs in the 5th and 6th to slowly close the gap. You could feel the momentum starting to shift… and then came the play that flipped everything. With Potsdam threatening, a ball was driven into right field that looked like extra bases all day. Heuvelton’s right fielder had other plans. A perfect throw came in to shortstop, who fired to third to nail the runner trying to stretch it into a triple. Just like that, instead of more damage, the inning was cut short… and the energy completely swung. Heading into the bottom of the 7th, Heuvelton trailed by one. And then things got tense. They worked the count, found ways on base, and suddenly the bases were loaded with the game on the line. Potsdam was one pitch away from escaping… but Heuvelton stayed patient and forced the issue. Ball four. Walk-off. Heuvelton completes the comeback with a 9-8 victory. Final Thoughts: This one had everything. Early mistakes, big-time responses, and a defensive play that completely changed the tone of the game. Potsdam did a lot right and put themselves in position to win, but Heuvelton’s resilience and late-game composure made the difference. The kind of game that reminds you… it’s never over until that last out is recorded.
